The internationally renown artist couple De Picciotto/ Hacke are releasing a beautiful new DVD/CD package set: “The Ship Of Fools†a “making of†documentary of their new live show.

These multi talented icons have been working unconventionally for years – ever involved in discovering new ways of presenting avant-garde ideas or interaction among cultures and generations. With the performance „The Ship Of Fools†it was their objective to explicate the novel by Sebastian Brant in a very contemporary spirit – emphasizing that medieval themes are astonishingly up to date – the interaction among text, music and video represents a „state – of – the – art†approach to classic literature, traditional and electronic music, art and film.
In the DVD interviews explain their method of creating a show in a humorous yet pensive manner –allowing the spectator to experience a fascinating, creative process whilst watching scenes of the live performance. The beautiful visuals and excellent camerawork make this documentary an opulent, luxurious experience.
The CD portrays the audio part of the show in depth, presenting the different compositions performed live remixed in the studio – deep bass lines, scraping metal, melancholic autoharps, violent guitar riffs, bizarre sound recordings, electronic break beats, long forgotten tango tunes entwine with Hacke´s magnificent singing and Danielle’s mystic lyrics.
The artists present a magical world –a dreamlike mirror of the one we are all living in –this DVD/CD package is charged with laconic humor, fantasy and impressive talent, inviting us to be seduced by a
universe of creativity.
The DVD/CD is being released on the 20th of June 2008 by POTOMAK the record label of Einstürzende Neubauten and distributed by Indigo.

Doors open at 9:30 pm –the movie will be shown outside on the big screen at 10:00pm The artists Danielle de Picciotto and Alexander Hacke will perform three pieces of the show live after the screening and then continue to celebrate their release and wedding anniversary with music by the DJ Boy from Brazil.
